FERRAN MASIP VALLS
PSYCHOLOGY
I am Ferran Masip, a clinical psychologist with a Master's degree from Columbia University, New York (La Caixa Scholarship).
I graduated in Psychology from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and hold the Official Master's Degree Certificate in General Health Psychology, awarded by the Generalitat de Catalunya. You will find me as a registered psychologist with the COPC, registration number 24,492.I have worked as a researcher and therapist at the Columbia University Medical Center and the New York State Psychiatric Institute, as well as a researcher at the Sleep Laboratory in the Psychology Department of the University of Melbourne, Australia.
I was a psychologist and social educator at the Cooperativa Sociale Macramè in Italy, where I worked with at-risk populations, families, and minors and collaborated on social intervention projects.
At the national level (Spain), I have held significant roles in various clinical and social settings. In Barcelona, I worked at La Modelo Prison and the Alzina and Til·lers Educational Centers for minors, and later continued collaborating with the Catalan Justice Department. Additionally, I worked at the Servei Tècnic de Punt de Trobada (STPT), focusing on family and at-risk minors' interventions.
For years, I served as the technical director of the Fundació Privada Sant Antoni Abat, where I developed projects and resources focused both on clinical intervention and particularly on assisting people at risk of social exclusion, especially former inmates and those struggling with addiction and/or homelessness.
I left that role to focus exclusively on individual therapy.
My practice focuses on individual online therapy, offering a flexible and accessible solution for those seeking professional support from the comfort of their own space. I specialize mainly in treating depression and anxiety, helping my patients manage these common but debilitating conditions through personalized therapeutic approaches.
I have a particular interest — having been one myself — in the mental health of expatriates; I am passionate about working with and supporting individuals facing specific challenges such as cultural adaptation, loneliness, family, and identity conflicts. I also offer therapy for artists, providing a space where creative minds can explore their emotional well-being and receive support in facing their unique challenges.
Thanks to having developed my profession and gained experience in both clinical and social settings, I now propose a primarily humanistic approach, which also draws from other schools of thought. In this way, I enjoy supporting therapeutic processes while considering the particularities of each case and individual.
In other words:
I will adapt, at all times, to your specific needs and unique context. My clinical training allows me to address emotional problems from a rigorous and structured framework, while my experience in the social field, working with vulnerable populations, has provided me with a perspective focused on the person as a unique and multidimensional being.
I believe in and promote self-awareness, personal growth, and emotional resilience in a comprehensive manner, tailored to the circumstances of each patient.
